Tay-Lo-Rest House

The TAY-LO-REST House, located in Langston, Logan County, Oklahoma is eligible for the National Register of Historic Places under Criterion B for its association with Bythella, Amelia, and James Taylor. The period of significance for the Tay-lo-rest House extends from 1930, when the Taylor's purchased the original house and property, to 1981 when Amelia Taylor died. All of the Taylors were notable. They were instrumental in the quest to develop Langston City, "America's First Distinctively Black City,” into a modern city.

PandDStudio created drawings to describe existing conditions and document this important residence which was home for the Taylor's and Langston University students.
