Will Rogers Lofts

The historic Will Rogers Hotel in Claremore, Oklahoma is individually listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Originally built in 1929, this six-story, 64,300 square foot building was at the forefront of the health craze when the discovery of ‘Radium Water’ spurred several new hotels and 'health spas' in the vicinity. The hotel was named after the internationally known humorist, Will Rogers, who was born in Claremore (1879-1935). In 1998, after decades of lying silent, the hotel was rehabilitated into 38  affordable apartments with amenity spaces and commercial opportunity in the ground level storefronts.

After nearly 20 years, previously refurbished historic windows were rotting out and advances in HVAC and lighting technology created the right climate for a new rehabilitation project. An affordable housing and preservation tax credits project once again, PandDStudio provided a window by window survey to record the condition of each of the 261 windows, which successfully justified the need to replace the already partially replaced windows. The Studio provided design and preservation consulting services including preservation tax credit application preparation and management. The project received the State Historic Preservation Officer's Citation of Merit.
